Modmat 1.1 released

I’ve officially released the 1.1 version of my Modmat theme into the wild. Just had the confirmation that its been updated on WordPress Extend, so its now available to download from there as well as my project page.

The main differences are a completely rewritten comments section, to make it compatible with WordPress 2.7 comment replies, and also sticky posts. Also fixed some styling inconsistencies I’ve been meaning to sort out for a while.

Ive also added a background switcher, so you can easily change the background image/colour, set whether you want the image to “tile”, etc. After the amount of customization I’ve seen of the theme on peoples sites, it seems the one thing that most people would have benefited from was that – so there ya go!

If anyone comes across any bugs, let me know.

Enjoy!

  1. Excellent news! Comment functionality is absolutely perfect! 🙂

One question (which I’ll PM you as well) – how would I go about putting the photo thumbnails in the far-right hand sidebar like you have in the modmat screenshot that’s used in the Themes management page?

  2. Again, many many thanks for your more than excellent template!!!

I have a question for you, perhaps you have the time to help me out: in the settings [Reading] I’ve set the Blog pages to show 8 posts.
The problem, however, is that when you browse a category it will also only show 8 posts and there is no “next/previous” function to scroll to the next 8 posts in the category.

    Is that easy to fix?

  3. Sounds cool–any suggestions about how to upgrade one’s site without destroying the customization already done?
